Again, the VSCCA is pleased to invite members to a spectacular day of Club Racing on the excellent and safe North Course
(a 1 1/2 mile road course utilizing the infield and a portion of the banked tri-oval)
at Pocono International Raceway. Even though this is a one day event,
you will have as much track time as most two day events, and even some three day events.
There will even be enough time for an enduro at no extra expense.
Those wanting to be in the 45 minute enduro should so indicate in the blank space on the bottom of the entry form.
Again this year we are sharing the day with our friends from the Race Car Club of America (RCCA),
which means that corner worker services will be provided by their club, and the event will be run on schedule to the minute.
The track time they use is more than compensated for by the efficiency with which they run the event, and by the end of the day,
most of our members present have overdosed on track time.
While there are virtually no elevation changes at Pocono (except up and down the banking),
the course is deceptively difficult to get right.
This makes Pocono a fine venue to hone your driving skills,
sort out your car and enjoy the pleasant association of fellow VSCCA members and their fine old vehicles.
So whether your car is old or older and whether you enjoy going relatively fast or somewhat slower, come and have a good time at the 2003 edition of POCONO - VSCCA!
Also, AJ Puglese, impresario of the RCCA, each year around Christmas loads a
semi with food, clothing and toys for children in Appalachia.
Anything along these lines that our members can donate can be brought to this event and will be included in AJ's 2003 Christmas load.
NOTE: ON FRIDAY, THE TRACK HAS OTHER CUSTOMERS.
THEY NEED TO VACATE AT THE END OF THE DAY. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR US TO LEAVE CARS AND TRAILERS OFF AFTER 5:00 PM ON FRIDAY.
BUT DO NOT - REPEAT DO NOT LINE UP AT THE TUNNEL GATE OR ARRIVE BEFORE 5:00 PM.
Registration opens at the track at 8:00 AM on Saturday.
Track gate is open at 7:00 AM on Saturday.
A complete schedule will be handed out at registration.
We have the track until 5:00 PM on Saturday.
In order that we not loose the spirit of participating in a full event, complete with socializing,
renewing old friendships, and making new ones, a Friday night dinner is being arranged at a nearby restaurant
for all who are interested.
Please indicate your expected number of dinners on your entry form,
but do not fill in any amount of money on the entry form, or send any money for the dinner now.
Monies for dinner will be collected at the door, but they need a count beforehand.
The restaurant is a warm, wonderful place that is close to the track, but more importantly, is less than a mile from the exit off of
Route 80 at which the Best Western is located.
Therefore it will be exceedingly easy for you to come to the dinner on Friday night, and make a complete experience of this event.
At what other event can you enjoy the camaraderie of a track dinner and gobs of track time, all in a 24 hour period?
This event is open to all VSCCA classes (including Class III). The entry fee is $160.00 US.

Pocono International Raceway is located only 90 minutes from New York City and Philadelphia,
3.5 hours from Baltimore, 4.5 from Washington and 5.5 from Boston.
The track is located on Rt. 115, just 3 miles south of Exit 43
(Blakesley PA exit) off Interstate 80.
This will be the third and final day for this years school (in VSCCA eligible cars ONLY).
Students should be at the track prior to 8:00 AM, and report to Chief Instructor Don Nattrass prior to the drivers meeting.
We are hoping that there will be racing fuel available at the track.
If possible, bring your own fuel in case the local vendor does not appear.
Some garage space is available at the track. First come, first served.
All cars participating in this event must conform to VSCCA safety and eligibility requirements.
This is an unmuffled event. Your car can be loud!
